Passage from the Periplus

After coasting due north along the next stretch of the shore, in the vicinity by now of the entrance to the Persian Gulf, you meet numerous islands, called the Isles of Kalaios, strung out along the coast for almost 2000 stades. The men who populate them are rascals who do not do much looking during the daytime. (from the Casson translation)
